Marvin Joseph Griffith, 70

Born 12-16-1933 Died 9-9-2004

Marvin J. Griffith was born in the small town of Albion, Nebraska. His father was taken from him when he was seven years of age. He worked hard to help his mom put food on the table for his five siblings.

Marv, or Joe as he was known in his younger days, developed an early love of aviation, sweeping out hangars and fueling airplanes in exchange for flying lessons. He learned to fly before he was old enough to drive. These skills, his hard work and dedication later provided a good living for his family. Throughout his 30 year career as an airline pilot, Marv was the recipient of numerous aviation awards, including the Million-Miler Safety Award.

Marv was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was very faithful to Our Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Council and The Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a friend to many people around the world. And will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his best friend - his wife - Karen Teramoto. Likewise surviving are his six children: John (Sarah), Susanne (Joe), Barbara (Ron), Joe (Melissa), Julie (Nils) and Elisabeth (Mark) and 20 grandchildren: Kirk, Isaac, Aidan, Joseph, Collin, Marcus, Andrew, Stefan, Conner, Alexandra, Rebecca, Tyler, Gracie, Lexington, Eilish, Lander, Madeleine, Francesca, Genevieve and Jamison.

Marvin Griffith was preceded in death by his father and in the past year, by his brother John, brother Jesse and mother Mary. He is survived by his brother Richard, and sisters Marlene and Dannie Kay.
